GENE-SEAM is a clothing-project I have been developing unintentionally since 2016 through some of my other sculpture work, but only came to title and launch under name in 2019. Much of my interest in working on this project rests on an interest in alternative-clothing narratives that re-imagine expressive identity practices beyond capitalist goals.
GENE SEAM hopes to interrogate questions such as these while drawing into conversation the very languages of multiplicity that can be found echoing throughout the natural world—from systems to patterns, cycles & evolutions, metamorphoses and transformations. Ultimately, hoping to create responses that probe deeper these truths that bind our bodies, minds, and environments together.
